1. How do I create an account on Dysco?
  • Download the Dysco App on App Store or Google Play or visit www.dyscoapp.com to use the web version.
  • Follow the onboarding steps to create a profile and dysco away!
2. How do I add/change my display picture?
  • Tap on the ‘My Profile’ icon on the top left corner of your feed page.
  • Then tap on the edit icon on the top right corner of your profile picture.
  • You can also change this in ‘Settings’ > ‘Profile Information’
3. How do I add/change my cover photo?
  • Tap on the ‘My Profile’ icon on the top left corner of your feed page.
  • Tap on the edit icon on the bottom right corner of your cover photo.
4. How do I change my industry selection?
  • Tap on ‘Settings’ on your profile page.
  • Tap on ‘Profile Information’ under Account Settings.
  • Change your Industry under Basic Information
5. How do I change my location on Dysco?
  • Tap on ‘Settings’ on your profile page.
  • Tap on ‘Profile Information’ under Account Settings.
  • Change your country from the drop down list, under Basic Information.
  • Select a city from the drop down list, based on your country selection.
6. How do I upload content onto Dysco?
  • Tap on the “+” icon at the bottom of the main screen
  • Upload images, videos, sound clips, video clips, links, pdfs etc.
  • Add a good title and description to make sure your content gets discovered!
7. How do I change my password?
  • Tap on ‘Settings’ on the top left corner of your profile page.
  • Tap on ‘Profile Information’ under Account Settings.
  • Tap on ‘Private’.
  • Change your password.
8. I forgot my password.
  • Click ‘Forgot Password’ on your log in screen
  • Follow the steps sent to you via email to create a new password
9. How do I link up my other social media accounts on Dysco?
  • Tap on ‘Settings’ on your profile page.
  • Tap on ‘Linked Accounts’ under Account Settings
  • Link any social media account that you want, by entering the respective usernames and passwords
10. How do I switch off push notifications on Dysco?
  • Tap on ‘Settings’ on your profile page.
  • Tap on ‘Push Notifications’ under Account Settings
  • The ‘tick’ will turn into a ‘cross’ icon, indicating that push notifications have been turned off.
11. How do I change my interests?
  • Tap on ‘Settings’ on your profile page.
  • Tap on ‘Interests’ under Account Settings
  • If you have already selected 5 interests, you need to unselect some first before being able to replace them with new interests
12. How does selecting interests help me?

Dysco helps you discover interesting content and people. Telling us what your interests are means that we can show you more relevant content.

13. Where can I view my bookmarks?
  • Tap on ‘Settings’ on your profile page.
  • Tap on ‘Bookmarks’ under Account Settings.
14. Is my profile private or public on Dysco?

Dysco is a public platform and is intended for professional networking. As such everything on Dysco is public, and can be seen by everyone on both on the app and in search engine results. However, your messages are private and always will be.

15. Whose posts will I see on my Inspire Feed?

Everything posted by people you follow will show in your Inspire Feed. Dysco learns your preferences and interests, and based on your industry, we show you content that you’re likely to find inspiring or intriguing. This will be related to your industry, your profession and the people around you. You will also find suggestions of people to follow on your inspire feed, these are the people we think you might find interesting.

16. What are Dysco blurbs?

On our blog, the Dysco Blurb, we feature cool job openings, interviews with fascinating people, current events, and other insights into various professions. You can directly interact with each blurb on the Dysco app. If we’re putting out content that’s relevant to you, you’ll see it the next time you’re on Dysco.

17. What industries are available on Dysco?

Dysco is for people of all industries, creative and non creative. We think cross-industry conversations and networking is really important, so we operate across 18 different industries (full list available here). If you don’t see your industry listed, you can select ‘Other’ and write to us if you really want us to create a new industry for you!

18. What should I upload on my profile? What’s the difference between a portfolio and a feed?

You can showcase your work and skills in your ‘Work’ section of your profile. These can include images, videos, links, or whatever format suits your profession. We’ve divided this up into your ‘portfolio’ and your ‘feed’. Your portfolio is for your most relevant or best work, that you always want to be visible at the top of your profile. This would likely be your website link, samples of your best photos and maybe your latest interview. The rest of your work can be uploaded to your Personal Feed. Everything you upload here goes out to all your followers in their Inspire feed. If you want to enlarge or feature one of your feed posts at the top for everyone to see, click the ‘star’ icon at the top right corner of that post.

19. What do I write in the ‘About Me’ section of my profile?

Be as descriptive as you can in the ‘About Me’ section about your qualifications, the work you do and what you excel at. It doesn’t matter if it’s too long, the more relevant information you feed in about yourself, the easier it is for Dysco’s unique search engine to enable people to find you and discover your work. The information you include in your ‘About Me’ also helps Dysco show you relevant people that you might work with. So write about your professional history, your various ventures, your interests and hobbies and even what you’re currently looking for.

20. How do I use the Dysco chat?

The Dysco chatroom is a safe place to have a conversation and discuss prospective collaborations with someone whose work you really like. It’s especially convenient for the people who wouldn’t want to reveal their email address or contact number. Share images, links, or your other information to take the conversation further.

21. How does the Dysco search engine work?

You can search for either ‘content’ or ‘people’ through the Dysco search engine. Content: If you want to search for specific kind of work (maybe abstract art, perhaps minimal UI UX, or vegan food), you can do a content search to see relevant posts. Any videos, links, or photos that match your search query will show up! Being descriptive in your title and description, whenever you’re uploading a piece of content. What you put in these fields, will help your content get discovered by those looking for it. People:If you’re looking for a specific person, someone with a special skill set or someone in a particular city then you can search for their name or their skill in the ‘People’ search bar. Dysco will filter out all the people that match your query. Our algorithm and AI understand context, so people with relevant skills will also show up in the results.

22. Whose profiles should I bookmark?

Bookmark the profiles of people that you might like to work or collaborate with in the future. These might be people whose work you don’t want to see everyday in your Inspire Feed, but might want to save for later. If you want to see their posts in your feed, then follow them as well. Only you can see the profiles you’ve bookmarked. When you bookmark someone’s profile, they won’t know that you bookmarked it.

23. Why is my location relevant to Dysco?

Dysco is your solution to hyperlocal professional discovery. We understand your need to find local people to work with or network with around you. We bring the talent and opportunities in your city to you. You can change your location at any time, or you can do a search for people in a specific location.

24. Am I safe on Dysco?

We understand that feeling safe on a social network is really important to our users. Trust is one of our core values, and we have built tools to promote safety, respect, and trust amongst users on our platform. If you find any content offensive, you can report it by clicking the three dots at the top right of any content piece. We will review it and take action accordingly. If someone is inappropriate or you don’t want them to be able to contact you, you can block their profile and you won’t be visible to them anymore. 25. Is my work safe on Dysco?

Anything you post on Dysco, is visible to the public, both on Dysco and off the platform. While your work cannot be downloaded or saved directly from the app, Dysco cannot prevent others from screenshotting your work. Do bear this in mind, while sharing content.
