Kunal Ahuja – Travel & Film

Young & ambitious, Kunal Ahuja, is currently a Mass Media student from Jai Hind College, Mumbai and a freelance photographer and videographer when he’s not studying. He primarily shoots music videos, short films, or at corporate events and music gigs. However, he dedicates a lot of his time to street and travel photography because of his keen interest in travelling. ”I love travelling, and it’s no secret. As long as I’m still travelling, no matter what I’m doing in life, I’ll be happy” says Kunal. When we asked him about his future aspirations and goals, he said that he wants to make a name for himself in the filmmaking industry someday. “Since my first year in The Maximum City, I’ve relentlessly pursued to achieve perfection in everything I do. I’ve done my fair share of unpaid jobs and have assisted people relevant to my field in order to learn and grow.” In the process, he has acquired opportunities like the role of an assistant director in a few ad films. This year, he even submitted his first professionally shot travel film to the Jio MAMI festival. When he just started marketing his work on platforms like Instagram and YouTube, he realised that the scale of operations of the industry is vast but the kind of opportunities that are available these days are equal to the number of people striving to grab them. “At this point, my primary goal is to broaden my horizon in order to be able to see these opportunities.” He’s hoping to collaborate with professionals who are determined, focused and enjoy what they do. Apart from travelling and photography, Kunal is fond of reading and watching movies. He is also a dog-lover and says that he hopes to dedicate his life to them one day.

Sagar Ahuja – Fashion & Portrait

New Delhi-based freelance fashion and commercial photographer, Sagar Ahuja specialises in fashion and portrait photography. He says, “The most amazing thing about me as a photographer is that I strive to discover novel ways to shoot/capture people or anything around me in the most enthralling custom”. His aspiration to become a photographer began while he was studying Journalism & Mass Communication. He realised that his photography class intrigued him much more than the others, so he began assisting fashion and portrait photographers on assignments for magazines and commercial shoots. He even got a chance to work for prominent fashion magazines like Vogue India, Grazia, L’Officiel India and Harpers Bazaar India, which gave him a lot of exposure and experience. He’s been working independently as a photographer since his graduation in 2013. Fashion, portraits and editorials are his major genre, but he extends his skill to food, interior, lifestyle, product, advertorials as the project demands. In the past four years, Sagar has had the opportunity to shoot runway and backstage photos for Vogue India during fashion weeks like Lakme Fashion Week, Amazon India Fashion Week and India Couture Week. His clientele also includes established designers like Tarun Tahiliani and Pankaj & Nidhi, e-commerce retail brand, KOOVS and in the electronics realm, he has shot for Nubia Smartphones and Philips. After establishing himself in the photography industry, he tried his hands at videography and started making commercial videos and behind the scenes films, most of which are used on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. He lives by the words of his idol, Mario Testino, a Peruvian fashion and portrait photographer, “You have to be you. You can’t be anybody else. If you speak loudly, and people tell you to speak quietly, you can do it for a little bit, but loud people are loud, and people who are not, are not.”

Collaborate with Sagar: When we asked him about his future goals and endeavours he told us he’s looking to expand his network of clients across the country and would love to connect with amazing fashion designers, magazines and ad agencies, to meet amazing and interesting people and to collaborate and make great work with them. All the bloggers, stylists and designers, in Delhi or otherwise, if you’re looking for someone to click some great portrait shots for you then you must get in touch with Sagar on Dysco. See more on his website here
